The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday 17 February at Ca’ Giustinian’s Portego (San Marco 1364) in Venice.

For the Carnival of Venice the Historical Archives of Contemporary Arts (ASAC) organizes “Il Carnevale squarcia la nebbiaVenezia, Scaparro, La Biennale 1980, 1981, 1982, 2006 from the Archives of La Biennale”, an exhibition in homage to the extraordinary director of the Theatre Section of the Biennale Maurizio Scaparro.

The exhibition “Il Carnevale squarcia la nebbia” includes photos, videos, posters, documents, objects and vintage items which describe and illustrate the unforgettable Carnivals created and organized by Maurizio Scaparro in the years 1980, 1981, 1982 e 2006.

The exhibition Il Carnevale squarcia la nebbia” is open until 15 May, from Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM and on Sundays 20, 27 February. The entrance is free of charge.

For Carnival 2022, La Biennale organizes also the 13th Kids International Carnival (19-27 February) -both in presence (Ca’ Giustinian, Sala delle Colonne) and online (on the website www.labiennale.org) – and to celebrate the 1600th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Venice will present a special project by the Historical Archives (ASAC): Archèus. Labirinto Mozart, an immersive installation by Ophicina and Damiano Michieletto, produced in collaboration with the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. It will be on display at Forte Marghera, Building 29(Venezia Mestre) from 18 February to 5 June 2022 (free admission, reservation required).
